Welcome to my blog! Today I wanted to work on layers and most especially using mats to create some texture and depth!
For this card I used the Pansy Patch Bundle by Stampin Up® The great thing about this bundle is that is is part of the the Pansy Petals suite! This suite comes with the bundle, Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper and the adorable Bumblebee Trinkets.
I brought in some of the new Stampin Up® 2021-2023 In Color cardstock and ribbon. I also used the Detailed Trio Punch to round the corners.
Here are the card cuts and instructions:

Card Cuts: DSP = Designer Series Paper
Card Base: – Blackberry Bliss – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Layer 1 – Fresh Freesia – 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
Layer 2 – Pansy Petals DSP – 4 x 5 1/4
Layer 3 – Fresh Freesia – 2 7/8 x 3 7/8
Layer 4 – White – 2 5/8 x 3 5/8
Layer 5 – (Pansy) Fresh Freesia – 1 3/4 x 5
– White – 1 1/2 x 4
– Blacberry Bliss – 2 x 3
– Evening Evergreen – 1 1/2 x 3 1/2
Layer 6 – White – 4 x 5 1/4
Layer 7 – Pansy Petals DSP – 1/2 x 4
Instructions:
1. Layer 2 – Adhere to Layer 1.
2. Layer 3 – Using the Detailed Trio Punch round the corners on the right side only. Adhere to the center of Layers 1 & 2.
3. Layer 4 – Using the Detailed Trio Punch round the corners on the right side.
- Using Blackberry Bliss ink stamp the sentiment in the lower right hand corner
- Adhere to Layer 3.
4. Wrap ribbon around Layers 1,2,3 and 4. Then adhere them all to the card front.
5. Layer 5 has several different pieces that need to be cut out using the Pansy Dies.
- See photo to know which color are which pieces.
- Once you have all the pieces cut out then build your pansy!
- Adhere one of the In Color Jewels to the center of the Pansy.
6. Adhere Pansy to card front using Dimensionals.
7. Adhere the Bumblebee trinket as shown.
8. Layer 6 – Using Blackberry Bliss ink stamp the sentiment as shown
9. Layer 7 – Chalk around the edges with Fresh Freesia Ink then adhere to the bottom edge of Layer 6 then adhere them both to the inside of the card.
